Guardian Projects

As guardians, we strive to learn and evolve continually, not only with the people who come to share their know-how with us, but with every living organism in this land. However, our land is vast and our guardianship over it is not to be exclusive. Instead, we invite anybody to share our responsibility by joining us with their own guardian project that aligns with our principles and those of Terra Agora.

Plantarfuturo

Plantarfuturo is the main guardian and the company that runs the ecological restoration process within Idanha-à-Vida. It is the entity that will have the right to use the land for 25 years to develop and implement its vision. This right can be renewed indefinitely.

José António Sequeira

José Sequeira grew up on these lands as a farmer’s son – his father worked here before him – and he knows every stone. He works extensively with cattle, sheep and goats, also planting wheat and producing olive oil.

Real Idanha

Ricardo and Tiago are two entrepreneurs that have left their city lives to dedicate themselves to make one of the best olive oils in Portugal. Their brand “Egitânia” is a leading organic brand sold in Portugal and Europe. They combine their olive oil production with keeping a traditional breed of sheep – Alentejo’s black merino – that helps to maintain the fertility of the soils for the olive trees.
